When I pulled up to the Bernardo Winery in San Diego, the first thing that caught my eye was the wild grapes growing on the side of the road. I knew this would be a great visit! I tasted a few, but they were still unripe because it was July.

As one of the most beautiful wine estates I’ve ever visited, the Bernardo Winery grounds are composed of a beautiful vineyard, Tasting Room, restaurants, and an array of specialty shop for both tourists and local visitors.

As I sat down to taste, I first enjoyed a veggie/fruit medley on toast, followed by a tasty pizza. When you order food from the main restaurant, your food will be delivered to whichever area on the large estate you want to sit.
My red wine tasting flight consisted of a San Diego “Burgundy,” Syrah and Grenache (my favorite).

Before I headed out, I grabbed a bottle of Grenache and toured the vineyard. If you are ever in the San Diego area, take the time to swing by this beautiful wine estate!
