If you’re in Chicago and looking for a large local winery, you must check out City Winery! Located in the heart of the West Loop, this enormous facility operates as a winery, restaurant, and entertainment venue.

I stopped in for a tour and wine-tasting. We learned about the process of wine-making, the equipment features, the barrel aging, and the process for choosing restaurant wines from their cellar.

After the tour, we returned to the tasting room to enjoy various snacks for an ultimate pairing event. The sommelier on staff was most knowledgeable and gave the group informative wine lessons.
