Wine “By The Glass”- Nobu Restaurant, Chicago West Loop
Nobu features delicious wines by the glass!

Most people stop by Nobu to enjoy their famed Yellowtail Shashimi, their exotic squid pasta, or their hand-picked Saki delights. But I simply stopped by for the wine!

With the white wines dominated by Old World styles, I decided to start with a 2020 Albarino from Rias Baixas, Spain. Dry, acidic, and medium-bodied, its deep golden color held the amazing notes of fresh lemon, lime, and stone fruit, which I paired with a Shrimp Tempura hand-cut sushi roll. Both items were delicious, and even better as a pair.

Next, I moved on to a decadent 2019 Columbia Valley Merlot, which I courageously paired with an array of chocolate bites. The salty, dark chocolate complimented the velvety plum notes of Merlot, which sang in concert to make a delicious dessert.

I ended my afternoon lunch by walking around to take in the beautiful decor, while frolicking about to primp and pose.

If you happen to be in the area, give Nobu a shot and let me know how their Saki is!
